Sorry not to have responded earlier but I notice school violence is not on
the ASC Policy Committee list. For an overview of critical criminologists
views on the issue see the current issue of THE ANNNALS of the American
Academy of Political and Social Sciences which Bill Hinkle of Valparaiso
University and I edited and which is titled School Violence (January 2000,
Sage). The special issue contains articles by our colleagues, Hal Pepinsky,
Ron Kramer, Susan Caulfield, and Ralph Cintron anmong others. Where we
address analysis and policy issues this is done from a multilevel holistic
perspective, rather than a focus on student on student crime.
