The following question came from a law prof at Tulane on a criminal law
list. Seems to me this list is a more likely place to ask.

Does anyone know of a book relating to the movement toward abolition of the
death penalty in Canada. There seem to be a couple (though shockingly few)
in England. I am particularly interested in the four or five year period
during which Canada (like England) had a period of jury sentencing prior to
abolition.
