1. - Ozgur Politika - 'Their affraid of Democracy':

HADEP Diyarbakir District Mayor Ali Urkut, the public demostration that they wanted to hold on 1st September World Peace Day was not given the go ahead by the governorship, Urkut recorded it as not understanding democracy.Urkut, expressed that they applied for the demonstration on 22nd August, however they given a negative response in a very short time.
Urkut emphasised that the State's fear of the people is unfounded, stated that, 'We think that they should not fear these people. Like we said previously, Newroz is the most clear example. Hundred thousands of people gathered, it was seen that no problem arises. This is democracy'

2. - Ozgur Politika - 'Rozerin and Rojbin hostage':

Rojbin just 4 and Rozerin 2 years old. What has come upon Rojbin and Rozerin is the Kurdish word's letter 'K's unforbearance, latest and most striking example. Aysel and Savci Azar couples children that live in Germany's Alfeld city, were prohibited on 1st July from returning to Germany with their parents from Turkey with the reasoning that their name being Kurdish.

3. - Ozgur Politika - 'Reactions towards Kendaxor masscre':

Poet-writer Nihat Behram, Writer journalist Hasan Bildirici, painter Suleyman Danisman and poet-muscian Huseyin Haskaya, condemned the Kendaxor massecre by Turkish warplanes in South Kurdistan in which 45 Kurdish civillians lost their lives and the worlds silence in front of a masscre.

4. - Kurdish Observer - 'Woman prefers peace':

Makbule Altindag, Chairwoman of HADEP (People's Democracy Party) Diyarbakir Women Wing, said that women preferred peace.

Activities for September the First, the World Peace Day started with a "peace festival" organized in Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality Saloon. Around 500 individuals among whom there were mayors from HADEP, HADEP provincial and district chairmans and representatives of democratic mass organizations attended to the festival. Chairwoman of HADEP Diyarbakir Women Wing Makbule Altindag stated that women preferred peace, adding that their aim would be spread their peace cries everywhere in order to make the world more beautiful. After her, Feridun Celik, Mayor of Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality, stressed that a lasting peace must absolutely be realized in Turkey.

On the other hand, Ali Urkut, Diyarbakir Provincial Chairman of HADEP, greeted Leyla Zana, former DEP (deputy who had been prisoner in Ankara Closed Prison, emphasizing that at the war in the region women had endured the most grievances.

After the speeches, HADEP Youth Wing displayed a folkloric dance. And Dicle Woman Culture Center Theatre Group staged a short play called "Hope" in which peace theme was dealt.

It should be noted that intensive security measures were taken in the saloon where there were plenty of banners as "Peace to the World, Freedom to Woman", "We Are Women, We Are Mothers, We Are Pro Peace", "The Solution Lies in a Democratic Republic Not in Execution".

 5. - Kurdish Observer - "My father is wasting away day by day":

The health condition of 64-year-old M. Emin Ozkan, being held in Maras Prison, is steadily worsening. Ozkan, whose brain was damaged by heavy blows to the head while under initial police detention, is not receiving medical treatment despite his frequent losses of consciousness.

M. Emin Ozkan, being held in the Maras Prison for the past four years after having been sentenced to life imprisonment for being a member of the PKK, suffered injury to his brain from blows to the head during the beatings and torture he experienced in the initial eight days of his detention. His daughter, Selma Ozkan, noting that her father has been held in the Maras Prison for the past four years despite his serious health problems, said that "My father has been struggling for the past four years with his condition. He doesn't get any treatment; they merely give him painkillers and send him back."

Stating that her father, due to his health problems, is unable to take care of himself, Selma Ozkan called for urgent attention to his condition. She continued as follows:

"Every time I go to visit him I see that my father has wasted away a bit more. He faints every day. Even though he has high blood pressure and is steadily losing weight, he doesn't get any serious medical treatment. When he asks for treatment, they just give him painkillers. We want him to be admitted to a fully equipped hospital and treated. The prison administration and the Ministry of Justice will bear the responsibility for the consequences of their mistreatment of him."

6. - Kurdish Observer - 'Ozgur Politika's news became a headline in Italy':

Italian newspapers Il Messaggero and Liberazione published full page of the pictures of victims of Kendaxor massacre, which were originally published in Ozgur Politika on August 26.

Both newspapers published pictures and criticized Italy and European Union for keeping quiet after the massacre.

Il Messaggero newspaper run the headline, "Massacre of Kurds is Active: Terror" and wrote the following: "The Kurdish newspaper's cover contains pictures of the victims of a war that the world does not want to see. Many pictures! The pictures shows that Napalm or some other chemical weapons are being used."

The newspaper said that Kurdish people is being massacred for years with the same method and criticized European Union. The newspaper continued, "EU can not keep quiet after Ozgur Politika's pictures. Turkey is one of the 15 countries which is being tested. Turkey is in a test process for human rights and she is using napalm bombs on August 14!"

Liberazione did not add much discussion to the Ozgur Politika news. It delivered Ozgur Politika's headline to its readers. The newspaper gave a brief information about the massacre. The newspaper criticize Italy for being silent after the massacre and pointed the countries that have criticized Turkey for the massacre."
