University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Department of Sociology-Anthropology.
Pending budgeting approvals, we anticipate a tenure track position at the
Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 1998. Primary teaching in
research methods, statistics and introductory sociology with secondary
interests such as social problems, identity politics, marriage & family,
alcohol, drugs & other addictions, juvenile delinquency/juvenile justice,
demography and other related areas preferred. Applicants should have
evidence of teaching success and a clear promise of research productivity.
In addition, teaching experiences which incorporate student participation
in applied research and community partnerships are desirable. Typical
teaching load is three courses per semester. Salary is competitive,
commensurate with experience and qualifications. UW-Parkside is a
primarily undergraduate university of 3,500 students located in an
attractive setting midway between Racine and Kenosha, WI with easy access
to Milwaukee and Chicago. Review of applications will begin on January 1,
1998 and applications received after that time may not receive full
consideration. The identity of the applicants will be kept confidential
before finalists are selected; finalists' names will be revealed upon
