Hi Steve,

I have a couple of suggestions re. books on women in prison. One is by Karlene
Faith, entitled Unruly Women: The Politics of Confinement and Resistance,
published by Press Gang (Vancouver, BC) in 1993. Another is Women Prisoners: A
Forgotten Population edited by Beverly Fletcher, Lynda Dixon Shaver, and Dreama
Moon, published by Praeger (Westport, CT) in 1993. A third book which has
received very high praise and the author is known to be a superb scholar is one
by Joanne Belknap. I think the publisher is McGraw-Hill. I can't remember
the title. If you want the particulars on the latter book, I will be happy to
look into it. You could also contact Joanne at U of Cincinnati, CJ Department.
