In my recent post on the new Harvard study, I am very sorry to say that I
mis-quoted the name of the British consultant and researcher whom I cited:
he is David Longley, not Eric Longley.

David, who I gather does extensive work for prison administrators and
policy-makers, offers the following information about the larger purpose
served by his recent commendable research work:
