Hi Everyone-

This week my SI seminar is discussing the concept of
"perspectives" and has as a reading assignment
the first couple of chapters in Joel Charon's Book
_Symbolic Interaction: An Introduction.._.
What I'm trying to get the class to see is the ways in which
the different ways in which people perceive the social
world impact our understanding of "society."
Charon's use of the term "perspective" is very close
to "paradigm."
Can anyone come up with some examples of how an interactionist might
view the notion of perspective? In interactionist thought, whose perspective
should we take into account? How does the researchers perspective
inform their work?

Just trying to get some discussion going here.....
What other kinds of topics are being discussed in other classes that
are signed uo to the list?
