In response to the question is there such a thing as a pure symbol? I'm
not trying to evoke a whole religous debate, but isn't God purely
symbolic? We all have our own impressions of what God is or is not.
There is no definite object attached to him/her. If someone has seen the
object "god" I'd like to know more, otherwise I think whatever "it"
may be is just a symbol.
