The Wiccan belief system ties the following to colors:

Green - North - Earth - healing - strength
Yellow - East - Air - learning - intellect
Red - South - Fire - anger - spirit
Blue - West - Water - calming - emotion
orange - wishes
brown - monetary
purple - spirituality
white - purification

For their faith - when you need the inner strength of one of the above
attributes you burn a candle of the appropriate color.
