Well, I guess this is what happens when you do your reading in front of a
television, but a possible example to your question is the entire Bernie
Goetz trial (civil suit) that started today. I remember when that
incident happened (again this might have something to do with geographic
location of where I grew up but) it was a media circus! Even now, people
are talking about it. The postmodern aspect of it (I think) would be how
Goetz was carring a concield weapon, which is illlegal in NY although you
wouldn't think it..., and shot these attempted robers in self defense. It
became a political nightmare for all those aposed to handguns etc. The
media basically created what I remember to be a pro-Goetz (pro-firearm)
setiment in the community.I really wasn't that old to remember before the
incident, but if you look at protection now it is not so outrageous in
1996 to shoot someone in self defence as it was in 1984.What it
basically said was everyone needed some form of protection... O.K, I am
rambling, is this at all close?
