It's best not to push one's luck on copyright, but sometimes journals
allow authors the right to reproduce for teaching or similar use. Homepages
are a grey area, but they do serve a teaching function. Conference
versions of a paper might be sufficiently different to allow public posting.
No easy answer on this one....
