I will have to agree with Jon that if people have the technological
capacity, they should get on the Web and learn how to use Netscape
with all due speed. Netscape is available for free for academics
and educators at http://home.netscape.com/. Of course, there are
certain minimum requirements in terms of technology. Netscape is
available for the folliwing operating sytems: Windows 95, Windows
3.1, Windows NT, Mac and PowerMac, and UNIX (I think). Also you must
a PC or Mac that has a color monitor-the Web is only barely
recognizable in black and white; the second is at least a 14.4 bpm
connection to the Internet. If you are hard wired to the Net at
scholl through Ethernet or a similar type conenction you are fine.
However, if you are connecting from home it is best to have a 28.8
bpm modem, although 14.4 will do. Of course, if you have all this
stuff, there are more setails that you need to attend to in terms of
downloading and Decomprssing Netscape and the scads of related
programs that you will need and want, but you can find that help
locally (or though us). Anyway, I have seen the future of the SSSI
Directory and it is Netscape!
