The answer to your question is that *VHS* is very easy to come by in
the UK. However US VHS tapes are coded for NTSC, which is the US
standard operating system for TV and video, while UK VHS tapes are
coded for PAL, which is the UK system. Just to help, much of
mainland Europe uses SECAM which is different again.
What this means is that anyone bringing a US tape to the UK for SSSI
either needs to arrange conversion to the UK standard or to tell us
so that we can arrange a multi-standard video player. Conversion in
the UK costs about $1.50 per minute of tape.
