Thanks to all the SSSI members and friends who made the Pacific
Sociological Association's 1996 meetings in Seattle such a suc-
cess. PSA's membership and meeting participation were at all-
time highs and interactionists were visible throughout the
program (and at our most-pleasant banquet).
Now is the time to get ready for 1997. Send your proposals for
the session(s) you would like to organize ASAP. Innovations in
form and substance are most welcome. Participation by
members of other disciplines, community members, and persons in
applied work all would add to the program. Use your imagination
and your contacts.

published in the Pacific Sociologist, all the following must be
