General Theme:
Democratizing Inquiry Through Qualitative Research
The conference theme this year invites papers that address issues related
to the various ways that qualitative research democratizes inquiry. The
ideals of a democratic research community include equality, justice,
empowerment, and equitable participation in decision making. How does
qualitative research provide opportunities to enact and foster these
ideals? What role does action research play? What problems are associated
with democratizing inquiry? Papers that deal with these and a variety of
other topics on qualitative research are solicited.
We also solicit proposals for a meeting format that is new to QUIG this
year, round table discussion groups. This might be the format for you if
you would like to lead a discussion related to a special interest topic
(e.g., teachers of qualitative research, action research, data analysis, a
topic related to a work-in-progress, and so forth).
