design considerations for a pc lab

We in the public administration division here at NIU are temporarily moving
to Gilbert Hall while the University will be building a new place to house
us. The architects of the new building want us to give them suggestions on
any desirable features of a small pc lab that will be put into this new
building. I don't have many ideas myself. Any design considerations that we
should request?

Also, the group that will be sharing the building with us (the Illinois
Association of School Budgeting Officers) plans on their lab basically being
just a plug-in setup so that their members can come and an plug in their
portables and notebooks to connect to internet and/or other networks I
guess. Is this a new trend in labs to deal with the short life of pcs?
