look at and print .pdf files in general access labs?

According to Academic Computing, currently, students in general access labs
here at NIU can't read and print .pdf files such as with Adobe Acrobat. (I
am not clear on the reasons why it is impossible).

I had assumed that this would be possible for students to read and print
.pdf files and I have incorporated a few very useful publications on the
Internet in .pdf format for my two courses that I am teaching this term.

Does anyone have any additional information or suggestions concerning this
problem that might be relayed to Academic Computing?
