look at and print .pdf files in general access labs? -Reply

Well, you've pretty much done that. Students can't read
.pdf files because this requires the Acrobat Reader, which
isn't installed on the GA servers. The solution is to
request that this software be installed. Since Michael
Prais is one of the subscribers to this list, you've already
let him know your desires.

According to Academic Computing, currently, students in
general access labs
here at NIU can't read and print .pdf files such as with

I had assumed that this would be possible for students to
read and print
.pdf files and I have incorporated a few very useful
publications on the
Internet in .pdf format for my two courses that I am
teaching this term.

Does anyone have any additional information or suggestions
concerning this
problem that might be relayed to Academic Computing?
