Subject: Web Masters Post

There are currently 3 ACS labs that make use of CD-ROMs and soundcards.

They are:
Reavis Journalism Lab - Reavis 203-206
Holmes Computer Lab - Holmes Student Center Lower Level
University Multimedia Lab - Jack Arends (Art) 310

They do not use speakers but have a head phone jacks on the front of the
computers in which users may attach their headphones.

As machines are replaced, multimedia capability will be considered.

All of our Macs are sound capable but not all have headphone jacks easily
accessible. We are in process of changing this, but it is a low priority.

We are currently working with Media Services to determine what plugins to
support.

The procedure to have software installed on ACS managed servers for use in
these labs can be found at http://www.acs.niu.edu/tech/procedur/softinst.htm

I hope this answers some of your questions.
Chuck Schumann.
