The company I now work for just purchased a pair of
projectors. Couple of
things:
- check out what type of bulb is used. Some use long
lasting (1000+
hours) bulbs (that cost >$100 a piece); others use
short-lived bulbs
(10-20) hours but much less expensive. Be sure to include
this in your
pricing equation as the short-life bulbs add up quickly.
- determine if you'll want to project in a lighted room. If
so, make sure
the projector puts out enough lumens to suit your needs.
- be prepared to shell out significant dinero--you do get
what you pay
for, though. We bought a portable Sony for ~$2000 and a
more stationary
Proxima for ~$5500, to give you an idea.
