Mark,
I've taken two courses via the Web and discovered some of the things
that I like and don't like. There was a bulletin board to post
questions. This was nice, because you got to see if the question you
had has already been asked and/or answered. There was a trouble board
where you could go and pick-up missed assignments if for some reason
yours was not delivered. What I didn't like about this was that every
lesson was posted there right in the beginning of the semester so I
just printed them all out and while doing my reading, answered the
questions as I went along. Somehow, I felt as though I were cheating.
Anyway, if I can think of any other cautionary notes, I'll pass
along. I am going to start taking Java script this Wednesday. I
think it is important to make the screen look very readable....So I am
encouraged to read and study on line as well and keep the files short.
That way if I do want to print out some of the material, I am not
printing a lot of unneccesary stuff.....save the trees and all. The
last class I took, you wouldn't begin to read the material online, the
font was too small and somehow the spacing made the page look squeezed
together. Sabrina
