I'd like to believe that, Steve, but it's not likely. Mike Malone knew
of its existence because I told him via telephone. An intermediary
also informed him. Some of the individual members knew of its existence.

I can see no other interpretation than that this is another case of
a crucially important university policy being created in secret. Repeated
private and public requests here, and on TOMPAINE were ignored.
At stake here isn't simply the homepage policy, but the manner in
which fundamental university policies are created and how some folks
seem to think they have no obligation to respond to requests for
information.

I'm generally not one to attribute malice to that for which ignorance
will suffice, but in this case, I'd likely be in error.
