Minutes, February 2, 2006; Watson 110 The meeting was called to order at 6 pm by President Josh and the members present introduced themselves REPORTS --Faculty Advisor Report: --Treasurer.s Report: Jim (on behalf of Amy K.) reported that we are currently solvent with a balance of $211. OLD BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS 1) Trips for spring.several ideas were discussed for trips in the spring: Day trips: --St. Charles --Stateville --Cook County Multi-day trips (Spring Break or after finals): --Southern Illinois (Tamms, Menard, Big Muddy) --Western Illinois (E. Moline, Dixon, Thompson) --California??? North Carolina??? 2) Potluck.It was decided that Thursday or Friday would be the best for a potluck and the exact date would be left to Amy K (February 24 at 6pm has been selected). 3) ACA Fall Conference.this year.s conference will be in Charlotte, North Carolina, and NIUACA members are strongly encouraged to attend. Josh suggested that we start planning now so that we do not get caught in a time crunch at the last minute. Planning will begin after the March meeting. Also, members should consider submitting papers for the poster session. Anyone interested can contact Josh (jstone@sun.soci.niu.edu) for more details. 4) Troy Melendez.it was suggested that we have Troy speak again this semester. Josh will contact troy and make the arrangements for date, time, and place. 5) Angola, April 20-23 - Signup is beginning and costs will be kept as low as possible.
