ACA Conference Nashville, Jan 28--Feb 1, 2006

Students MUST be a member in good standing of NIU-ACA to participate in the
NIU-ACA prison trips.

Here's how to sign up:
   1) Read the information below.
   2) Then, if you're interested, Click here and go from there.
The semi-annual ACA conference in Nashville from January 28 to February 1.
Normally, people don't stay for the full sessions, and arrive or depart
a day or two on either side.

This is an excellent opportunity to hear some interesting sessions, meet profesionals
in criminal justice, and hang out with students from other chapters.
There is a POSTER SESSION, in which students
present their work in friendly confines (a large room with a poster of
a paper they've written and people stop by to discuss it--it's fun!).
This is a good experience, and worth attending.

COSTS:

Registration: Expected to be about $50 per person.

Airfare: Going rate, but usually under $150

Rooms: With doubling and tripling, estimated to be around $45 per person per night (doubling up)

WHY GO?

The conferences are twice a year, with 5,000-7,000 people attending from across
the U.S., Canada, and internationally. It's a good chance to meet people
and learn a lot about all the aspects of corrections, probation/parole,
rehabilitation, substance abuse/intervention, and many other topics.
If you're interested in corrections, law enforcement, and related areas,
this is a way to learn more about them.
